The bottom 40% refers to individuals in the population whose adjusted household after-tax income falls in the lowest 40% of the distribution. |

This is a proxy indicator. Canada’s data is reported by quintile or decile separately instead to being reported for the bottom 40% as stated in the UN Global metadata. |
Method of computation |
Household expenditure per capita is calulated by dividing the total expenditure by the total population. |
