Target 3.2: By 2030, end preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years of age, with all countries aiming to reduce neonatal mortality to at least as low as 12 per 1,000 live births and under-5 mortality to at least as low as 25 per 1,000 live births

Indicator 3.2.1: Under‐5 mortality rate

This indicator measures the under-5 mortality rate, defined as the number of deaths of children aged under 5 per 1,000 live births.

This indicator measures the mortality rate of children aged less than 5 years rather than the probability of death as derived from a life table and expressed as a rate per 1,000 live births.

The latest four reference years are considered preliminary. Data for 2017 to 2022 are not available for Yukon.
